RAPDS offers the MN permit to carry course in accordance with the Personal Protection Act of 2005. RAPDS is certified by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to teach and certify instructors and students in accordance with Minnesota Requirements.
This course will involve approximately 3 hours of classroom instruction, followed by a live fire range session.
If classroom courses are not going to work for your schedule. I also have an online course presentation. The online presentation requires internet and YouTube access. You will also need to select a range day. I have reserved two Thursdays each month look for " Reserved range time for online permit to carry course" on the Availability Calendar. As with all my training, I will provide inert training firearms to increase students' ability learn how to safely handle a handgun. I use SIRT handguns to help teach grip, sight picture, and trigger control for students who are not familiar with handgun use. I utilize inert Blackhawk training handguns to help teach weapon retention and safe handling. It is recommended that each student bring their handgun to the course, to use for certification. In the event that the student is obtaining their permit to carry so they can purchase a handgun and they do not have one for the course, I can provide a .22 caliber semiautomatic magazine fed handgun for use at the range.

Having problems finding or making it to a scheduled permit to carry course? RAPDS offers individuals the ability to gather with a small group (of at least five) friends, family members, or acquaintances in your own home or a place convenient to you.
In the same manner as the prescheduled courses, this course will involve approximately 3 hours of classroom instruction, followed by a range session.
I will travel to you and conduct the classroom portion. If you're hosting the training event we can discuss the few logistical requirements I will need to conduct the course at the location you have chosen. I have the ability to conduct the training using a projector, which I will bring, or through an HDMI compatible TV, which you provide. When you call to schedule the training let me know if you have a range near you, for the live fire portion. If you have a private range, on your property, that you would like to use we will need to discuss the specifications, prior to scheduling the training, to ensure it is a safe location for our purposes. If you do not have a range near you we will conduct the live fire range at the St. James Gun Club. Select the "Student Information" tab on the left of the page and review the range section for additional information.

RAPDS is certified to teach individuals to become instructors for the MN Permit to Carry Course, covered under the 2005 Personal Protection Act. This course is a week long and prices and fees are in development.
