Upon successful completion of the MN Permit to Carry training course you will receive a certificate. The certificate of completion is good for one year and is what you will present to your county, along with your permit to carry packet, to obtain your permit to carry.
The Minnesota Permit to Carry Course cost is $100.00 per student minimum of 5 students for hosted events. Or $115 dollars for the online presentation course. The price includes both the classroom and the live fire portion of the class. The classroom portion lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. If you select the online presentation course, you will still need a live fire range day. I have prescheduled range days for those that select the online presentation. Check out my availability calendar for those days. There are no travel costs associated with classes I have prescheduled. Travel costs may apply if you are hosting a small group class at a location of your choice, and I am traveling to you. I am currently located approximately 15 miles southeast of St James MN. If the training location is within 25 miles of my location, I don't charge for travel time. If you would like me to travel to your location and it's outside of my 25-mile radius, my travel time expense is $25.00 dollars an hour, and $0.56 per mile (in excess of 25 miles). If the training or location requires an overnight stay, food and lodging fees may also apply. Travel costs will also need to be paid at the time the training is scheduled.
A 50% deposit must be made upon scheduling the training event. Deposits can be made using Venmo or Paypal. Full payments may also be made at the time the training is scheduled, if you prefer. The remaining balance must be paid prior to the start of the training event and can be paid with cash, Venmo, or Paypal. I will give you my payment information when we schedule your training.
Students should use their own firearms. I want you to gain the experience and confidence with your weapon platform. I want your weapon to feel like an extension of your body and a tool you're comfortable with. I will provide targets and target stands for the training. I utilize SIRT training pistols, Blackhawk training pistols, and inert training rounds for several calibers of handguns. If you do not have a handgun for the permit to carry live fire portion, please let me know in advance. Students should provide their own hearing and eye protection. However, I will bring foam earplugs and eye protection in the event that a student's are damaged or they have been forgotten.
My goal is to provide a great training and educational experience. Cancellations must me made five days in advance to qualify for a full refund. If the instructor cancels before or during the course, for reasons other than safety issues, a refund will be issued within 10 business days. Please follow firearm safety rules, range rules, and instructor direction. If the instructor deems that the student is failing to follow range safety rules or instructor direction, and it creates an unsafe training environment, the instructor may cancel the course at any point and no refund will be issued. If I travel to your location and determine the range site you selected is not safe a refund will not be issued. Please contact me and let me know if you have questions regarding your choice for the training location.
Please understand that what I teach is designed to help you increase your weapons handling abilities and personal safety with firearms. I will give you the knowledge to build skills. This training does not guarantee your will win every encounter you deal with. This training does not ensure you will never be a victim of a crime. My training is meant to decrease the chances of you becoming a victim and increase your ability to defend yourself and those you care about. You must train with the tools you carry and build the skills that you rely on for personal defense.
Per insurance specifications, students will be required to sign a liability waiver/assumption of risk form before any training can take place.
